Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: August 22, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Superbill Studio, a software service owned and operated by Vertical Fold LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company (“Vertical Fold,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, purchasing Superbill Studio Pro, or otherwise using Superbill Studio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. About Superbill Studio

Superbill Studio is a software tool designed to help licensed or credentialed behavioral health providers create professional superbill documents for their clients.

Superbill Studio is not an electronic health record system, medical billing service, insurance company, clearinghouse, legal service, accounting service, or professional coding service. We do not submit claims to insurers or other payers on your behalf.

You remain responsible for determining whether a superbill is appropriate for a particular client or payer and for verifying the accuracy and completeness of all information included in each superbill.

2. Eligibility

Superbill Studio is currently intended for use in the United States by individual licensed or credentialed behavioral health providers who are at least 18 years old.

Each account is intended for use by one individual provider. You may not share your login credentials or allow multiple providers to use a single account.

By using Superbill Studio, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements and have the authority and professional credentials necessary to use the service for your practice.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining accurate account and Provider Profile information and for safeguarding your login credentials.

You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account. Please notify us promptly at support@superbillstudio.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

You may not create accounts or otherwise use Superbill Studio for the purpose of circumventing usage limits, payment requirements, security controls, or other restrictions.

4. Free Access

Superbill Studio currently allows eligible users to generate and download up to three superbills at no charge.

The Free allowance is a lifetime account allowance rather than a recurring monthly or annual allowance. Free superbills do not reset.

We may modify or discontinue the Free offering for future users at any time. Any changes will not retroactively create charges for superbills previously provided at no cost.

5. Superbill Studio Pro

Superbill Studio Pro currently provides unlimited superbill downloads for a one-time purchase price of $37, plus applicable taxes.

There are no monthly or annual subscription charges associated with this purchase.

We may change the price of Superbill Studio Pro for future purchases. A price change will not result in an additional charge to an existing Pro user or convert an existing one-time purchase into a recurring subscription.

Pro access continues for as long as Superbill Studio remains offered and operational, subject to these Terms. References to “lifetime access,” where used, mean access for the operational lifetime of the Superbill Studio service and do not constitute a guarantee that the service will exist for the lifetime of the purchaser.

6. Payments and Paddle

Our order process is conducted through Paddle, our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payments, applicable taxes, receipts and invoices, and payment-related customer service and returns in connection with purchases of Superbill Studio Pro.

When purchasing Superbill Studio Pro, you may also be subject to Paddle's applicable terms and privacy practices.

Superbill Studio does not receive or store your full payment card number, CVV, or other raw payment credentials.

7. Refunds

Superbill Studio offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for purchases of Superbill Studio Pro.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a refund within 30 days of purchase by contacting support@superbillstudio.com. Refunds are processed through Paddle and may also be subject to applicable consumer-protection laws and Paddle's requirements as Merchant of Record.

If a purchase is fully refunded, your Pro access will end and your account will return to the Free tier. Superbills previously counted toward your Free allowance will not be restored or reset.

Additional details are available in our Refund Policy.

8. Client Information and Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the information you enter into Superbill Studio and for ensuring that your use of the service complies with laws, professional obligations, payer requirements, and recordkeeping requirements applicable to your practice.

This includes responsibility for verifying information such as:

  • client information;
  • provider and practice information;
  • diagnoses and ICD-10 codes;
  • CPT codes and modifiers;
  • Place of Service;
  • dates of service;
  • fees, charges, and amounts paid; and
  • any other information included on a generated superbill.

Superbill Studio is designed so that client-specific information entered into the superbill builder is processed locally in your browser and is not intentionally transmitted to or stored by Superbill Studio's backend systems. Generated superbill PDFs are likewise created for you without being retained by Superbill Studio.

You are responsible for appropriately storing, transmitting, delivering, and retaining any PDF or other document you create using Superbill Studio after it is generated.

For more information about our data practices, please review our Privacy Policy.

9. No Guarantee of Insurance Reimbursement

Creating a superbill does not guarantee that an insurance company, health plan, or other payer will accept it or reimburse a client for services.

Coverage and reimbursement decisions are made by the applicable payer and may depend on the client's benefits, provider status, diagnosis, procedure, documentation, medical necessity, plan rules, and other factors outside our control.

Superbill Studio does not verify insurance benefits, determine eligibility for reimbursement, or represent that any particular CPT code, ICD-10 code, fee, service, or provider will qualify for reimbursement.

10. No Professional Advice

Superbill Studio provides software functionality and general informational resources only.

Nothing provided through Superbill Studio constitutes medical, clinical, legal, insurance, billing, coding, accounting, tax, or other professional advice.

Features such as suggested or selectable codes, defaults, formatting tools, or other conveniences are provided to assist with document creation. They are not a substitute for your professional judgment or independent verification.

You remain responsible for determining which information and codes are accurate and appropriate for your practice and clients.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Superbill Studio to:

  • violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • create fraudulent, deceptive, or knowingly inaccurate documents;
  • impersonate another provider or misrepresent professional credentials;
  • gain unauthorized access to another user's account or information;
  • circumvent Free-tier limitations or payment requirements;
  • probe, attack, disrupt, reverse engineer, or interfere with the security or operation of the service, except where such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law;
  • introduce malware or malicious code;
  • use automated systems to abuse or place unreasonable demands on the service; or
  • use Superbill Studio for a purpose materially inconsistent with its intended function.

We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe an account is being used fraudulently, unlawfully, abusively, or in a manner that threatens Superbill Studio, its users, or third parties.

12. Intellectual Property

Superbill Studio, including its software, website, branding, visual design, templates, text, graphics, and other original materials, is owned by Vertical Fold LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Superbill Studio for your own professional practice.

You retain responsibility for and any rights you may have in information you provide through the service.

Superbill PDFs you legitimately create through your account may be downloaded, retained, reproduced, and provided to your clients and other appropriate recipients for their intended purpose.

13. Third-Party Services

Superbill Studio relies on third-party services and infrastructure to provide certain functionality, including payment processing, authentication, hosting, and transactional communications.

Your interaction with certain third-party services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for outages, interruptions, acts, omissions, or changes attributable to third-party services outside our reasonable control.

14. Availability and Changes to the Service

We aim to keep Superbill Studio reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, security concerns, third-party outages, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We may modify, improve, replace, suspend, or discontinue features of Superbill Studio. If we discontinue the Superbill Studio service entirely, existing Pro access will necessarily end.

Nothing in these Terms guarantees that Superbill Studio will operate indefinitely or that every existing feature will remain available permanently.

15. Account Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Superbill Studio at any time.

You may request deletion of your account by contacting support@superbillstudio.com.

We may suspend or terminate an account if we reasonably determine that you have materially violated these Terms, engaged in fraud or unlawful activity, attempted to compromise the security of the service, abused Free access, or otherwise used the service in a way that creates material risk to Superbill Studio or others.

Where reasonably appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve a violation before terminating access.

Termination does not eliminate rights or obligations that by their nature should survive termination, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, payment records, and dispute resolution.

16. Data Following Account Deletion

When an account is deleted, we may delete Provider Profile information and other account-specific information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may retain limited transaction, payment, security, fraud-prevention, and audit records where reasonably necessary for accounting, tax, refunds, disputes, legal compliance, or other legitimate business purposes.

Paddle may independently retain transaction information in accordance with its obligations as Merchant of Record and its own policies.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Superbill Studio is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Vertical Fold LLC disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that Superbill Studio will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or suitable for every provider, payer, practice, or reimbursement situation.

Nothing in this section limits warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vertical Fold LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, reimbursement, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of Superbill Studio.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Superbill Studio or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Superbill Studio during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or $100.

These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.

19. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vertical Fold LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of Superbill Studio, your material violation of these Terms, or information or documents you knowingly create or provide in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law, disputes arising from these Terms or Superbill Studio will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in South Carolina.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to Superbill Studio, our business practices, applicable law, or third-party services.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of Superbill Studio after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

23. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and any other terms expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and Vertical Fold LLC concerning your use of Superbill Studio.
